As part of its concession to players protesting the National Anthem at games, the National Football League (NFL) announced Tuesday a new “social justice” campaign featuring player commentary videos on the NFL Network.

In a press release on the new social justice campaign, the NFL says “Let’s Listen Together” will give players a multi-media platform to air their views:

“As part of its ongoing work to support its players, the NFL today announced a joint player and ownership commitment focused on social justice.

“The campaign ‘Let’s Listen Together,’ launches today and includes a multi-layered roll-out including digital content and brand spots highlighting the player-led work on social and racial equality. The platform will also include social media support, as well as individual letters from players and owners sharing their stories and personal reasons for making social justice a priority.”

On Thursday, NFL Networks will air the first of a series of segments in which players voice their social justice opinions. In the first, one National Anthem protester, Philadelphia Eagles Safety Malcolm Jenkins, will advocate the need for “social and emotional intelligence training for police officers”:

"In the coming days and weeks, the NFL will highlight various societal issues, individuals and organizations through the lens of its players in a series of NFL Network features debuting this Thursday, January 25 during NFL Total Access, which airs at 7:00 PM Eastern.

“The first feature includes Philadelphia Eagles safety MALCOLM JENKINS and his focus on racial bias and social and emotional intelligence training for police officers."

Forbes.com defines “emotional intelligence” as an “intangible” concept made up of two main components – “personal competence” and “social competence”:

“Emotional intelligence is the “something” in each of us that is a bit intangible. It affects how we manage behavior, navigate social complexities, and make personal decisions that achieve positive results. Emotional intelligence is made up of four core skills that pair up under two primary competencies: personal competence and social competence.”

“Personal competence is made up of your self-awareness and self-management skills, which focus more on you individually than on your interactions with other people.”

“Social competence is made up of your social awareness and relationship management skills.”

Jenkins made national news by raising his fist during the playing of the National Anthem at NFL games. He agreed to stop late in the season, after the NFL agreed to provide nearly $100 million in funding to social justice causes.

Fascinating. The National Felons League lecturing others on emotional stability and social justice.

These people regularly let emotional instability cause them to do stupid thing during their "work" and play while depending on their coach and team owners to get them off criminal charges.

Then they routinely get arrested for gun crimes physical and sexual harassment. Why would I listen to criminals tell me how to be more tolerant of their misdeeds. BS.

Oh, well. The only professional football game I usually watch every year is the Super Bowl, so I was already planning to boycott it this year. This just confirms my decision. Nothing would make me happier than for the NFL to go bankrupt someday. Screw 'em all.
