im in a little dilema. my wife and i agree upon me purchasing 1 new firearm per year for my collection. i have plenty of pistols, a nice hd shotgun, and an ak. i cant decide if i want a nice .308 with scope, or a nice ar-15. i dont hunt, so the .308 would just be used for range days. what are everyones thoughts. :wavey:

It depends on you own personal interest. From my perspective, I simply enjoy going to the range and shooting. Based on that interest, I would most likely buy a dedicated .22LR AR-15.

    I'd vote for the AR.

    The ladies like them.:)

For my next im at a tossup between a HKP7, 4" 1911(RIA/Citadel most likely), a semi auto or over under 12 GA for trap/skeet, a 9mm Carbine of some sort...oh or something like a Ruger LCP or the Taurus equivalent there of for deep concealment or just lounging around the house in sweat pants or what ever) . I just (Last Week) got a Ruger SR9compact to replace my Glock 23 so im done for a bit.

In that case I say get the AR15.

The .308 will just be a range toy that makes more noise and recoil.

Get a M-1 Garand. It will really add to any collection plus it will gain value faster than most firearms over time.
