OK...So I really want another Glock for CCW. I currently carry a G35 Gen 4 for duty, but am also very fond of my G19, G34, and G21 Gen 4...Yeah, I know I'm a fickle guy...

    I am looking at maybe a G30SF or a G23 Gen 4.

I know the G23 is a little skimpier, but I already have a G19 that I really like, and the 9mm and .40 are getting pretty close performance wise comparatively... I do like the 45 ACP...

Does anyone have a G30SF, and have any suggestions?

Of those listed I would pick the G30 but admittedly I carry a G26 more often.

I like them all but the G30 gives you everything you want in a compact carry, .45 ammo , plenty of rounds and great accuracy.

As a CCW gun I'd choose the thinner G23 over the G30. If you wanted to stick with a thinner .45 the G36 is worth looking at, I liked the way mine shot.

In the free states the G23 gains 3 more rounds, but in the PRC it might not matter if you are limited to 10 round magazines (although as LE you are likely granted real mags for non duty use).

I love my new G30sf. It has become my favorite Glock. I carry in a Adams Leather pancake and IWB with no problems. It is a little bit thicker than the G19 but I have no problems carrying IWB.

Since you're in Cali I'd have to say the G30SF. If you were in another state I'd definitely carry the G23.

He said duty so I assume he's a cop.

Maybe I should read better:supergrin: Well for duty then why not the G23, more rounds and effective power.

Well he has a duty weapon so I assume this is a personal purchase. If your a Cop in Cali can you acquire mags that hold more than 10 rounds for your personal weapons?

    And a dissenting opinion:

You are in SoCal. That is a hot area. Here in NY, I can carry a G19 or G23 in winter, but when the hot weather rolls around it is the G26 for me. Or even a Kahr MK9 in the pocket.
If I lived in a hot climate all year round, the only choice would be a G26 or G27.
I do have a G30sf and have been carrying it, but honestly it carries way bigger than a G26 due to the size and shape of the backstrap and mag base. It prints thru a T shirt, the G26 does not.

For those above, I am an LEO, so I can get hi caps, if they will let me keep them when I retire, that's up to my state's shifting political climate.

For a small CCW, I already have a Ruger LC9, so until Glock comes out with a single stack 9, I'm good. (I had a G27 and hated it.)

I'm looking for a mid-size CCW. I already have the G19, and the G23 seems to be so similar that the G30 seems like a nice idea. (Especially since I carry a G21 off duty...)
