No, I want to know WTF happened to the Imac refresh?

While we're at it, they discontinued my gorgeous 17" MBP.

    Can't get em anymore.

    You want one?

    you're talkin to me.

Offers should start at 4k.

Cause that's what it will take!

I'd love one, but a bit pricey for me. I'll prob have to get an Air, which suits me pretty well.

I'm in...I didn't spring for the uber-expensive retina display one though. I just got the base model with some beefed up RAM.

I am seriously wanting the new Macbook Pro. The Retina display is jaw-dropping, and the speed of the processor coupled with the 256 GB flash memory and the Invidia GeForce GT 650M GPU with 1GB of GDDR5 memory makes this a speed demon unlike any other.

A little over five years ago I bought a top-of-the-line MacBook Pro, and it's really starting to show its age. I figure that I can expect to get another five years of good service from this new Retina Mac. With an educational discount (wife is a grad student) and tax-free New Hampshire nearby, I can take one home for $1999. All I need is $1999 and I'm all set! :crying:

I am stunned even a year after switching to Mac.

I can only imagine what the new ones are like.

It was either that or they were gonna put wheels on it so people could use it as an iOttoman in their living room.

You aint seen big till you've driven a 27" Imac.

Plus I'm not a girly man when i have to toss it into a convenient carrying case with a handle to heft its awesome 5lbs into the car.

Its not THAT big! And I love the screen real estate. multiple windows open for multitasking…ahhh no squinting!

I was waiting for an iMac refresh.

    For the last 6 months.

Now I'm reading that Apple will ready iMac updates "sometime in 2013". They are moving away from desktops, it seems.

So I have some thinking to do. I wouldn't buy anything for at least a month, so that I can buy with Mountain Lion pre-installed. I currently have a 21.5 iMac from 2010, and a last-gen (as of today it's outdated) MacBook Air 13 inch from 2011.

I don't need to upgrade. I like the new MBP Retina Display, though. I like the slimmer form factor, and the fact that you can spec one with a bigger SSD. By the way, SSD's are awesome. So much faster to boot.

So maybe I spend 2600 on a properly spec'ed MBP 15 inch and just run that as my sole computer. Maybe I get a Thunderbolt display to use at home. Maybe I just keep what I have awhile longer.

I'll give it some consideration over the next month while we wait for Mountain Lion.

I can't wait until the "anti-change" folks start complaining about an occasional empty casing hitting them on the head.

    Love MacBook Pro.

Glad I didn't wait now. I just got a new iMac about 3 months ago. I was going to have to do something by the end of this month.
