On a couple of different forums, I am reading that the Newtown shooter left the rifle in the car and the shooting in the school was done with a the semi auto pistols he was carrying. At this point I don't know who to believe, certainly not the media or someone trying to further their cause by linking to some website they feel is important.

From pictures and video of police searching his car, it appeared to be a Saiga Shotgun with a magazine in it that was pulled out of the trunk.

This would work with the reports of a shotgun and an assault rifle in the trunk since it looks like an AK.

Ignore the forums. Wait for the official police report to be issued.

I've read several reports that say the shooter left the house with all 5 of his mother's guns. And he left two in the car when he entered the school.

That would certainly explain how they find a rifle with the shooter, and another one in the vehicle. IIRC, there was one shotgun, two handguns, and two rifles. I read this in the news though, so no telling how accurate it truely is.

Somehow I don't believe we'll ever get to see the official police report in it's entirety.

It was Glen Campbell's dad, on the triple bypass, with a long barrel candlestick.

Didn't the medical examiner state the victims had suffered rifle wounds?

Depends on who makes the report public and what agenda they're trying to push.

First mistake: Expecting the "News" to be accurate.

Second mistake: Indulging the urge to put on the tinfoil...when the police report is done, it will be FOI'd. If you seriously think that something will be "hidden" in todays day and age, with an event this large, and with special interest groups (NRA, HCI, etc) sharpening their knives...you are probably indulging in fantasy. Let alone the tinfoil insinuations that LE is going to falsify info or cannot be trusted to conduct an investigation.

Once the investigation is completed the reports become public record.

According to wiki, and consistent with other articles, Lanza was found in the school with an AR and two handguns.

A shotgun (likely a saiga), was found in the trunk.

Or at least not acurate and open.

The media, in thier race to put out anything, totally blew it!
The dad was killed at home. The mom was killed at school. The mom was killed at home. Totally rediculous!

Ok. At risk of infraction, I will say it. Don't be a dumb-***. The crime scene was too vast, with too many agencies, and too many witnesses - even those itty bitty teeny weeny kids to pull that crap off anywhere outside of your fertile imagination.

As Dragoon said, the full "Official Police Report" will be released to the public records. It will probably be slow, tedious reading. There may be a summary released as a cover memorandum. Only a few people will make the effort or take the time to read it cover to cover.

Others will rely on interpretations from the media, from bloggers and special interest groups for information. They will form their "educated" opinions with these 'interpretations'.

In which group will you be?

Apparently, someone, allegedly one Ryan Lanza, no, make that Adam Lanza, went berserk, killed one of his parents and used three or four semi automatic weapons to invade a gun free grade school, inflict horrendous damage to a score of kids and teachers/staff, then killed himself. Just before Christmas.

    Apparently. disclaimer, I wasn't there.

Truth, as we know it, seems to suffer from the news media reporting whatever they hear as soon as they hear it and/or the LEOs keeping everyone out while they "do their thing" after the fact. As it should be perhaps. But a distrusting populace looks for hidden agendas or meanings where they can, when they can as they have been lied to often enough to warrant that distrust. (e.g., Watergate, Waco, WMD, Fast & Furious to name a few)

As a result, the "truth" (being a perception) is that people are upset for many reasons, notably innocent lives lost, weapons used, mental health, gun free zones, politics, news reporting or lack thereof, knee jerk reactions, et al. Take your pick.

Massacres are like that. Overwhelming to the senses of the sensible, and those affected immediately; not to mention busy bodies from afar who wish to drive home their own agendas using said tragedy as a baseline.

    But I could be wrong.
