Yes, I think it is true. We could probably expect this in 2010. Will it be standard on all Glock models, I don't know. I think it is a wrong direction. I just like Glock the way it is, more parts more things to go wrong. What do you think. BTW this is the link where I first read about it:

This just in: United States' first black president elected! National ammo shortage! Berlin Wall falls! Americans send man to moon!!
The days of one size fits all are over though and Glock is losing too many of their large LEO contracts to other manufacturers. More and more PD's are looking at guns that can be adjusted to the shooter. I think it's a smart move myself, but I was one of the one's that the glock didn't fit but I was stuck with it because that's what was issued to me.

1 1/2 yrs ago we switched to the M&P and qualification scores rose dramatically and everyone has been really happy with the gun.

No way, let's make them get SF 10mm or .45, or use GAP with less capacity. That is the only way! Despite there being another thread on this, I feel like adding to this one too:

If they are going to do this, fine, but it needs to look like the grip doesn't come off. I don't think they can do that, there will be a line where it meets the rest of the gun. I don't like that look, and 9mm/40/357 fits me just fine.

c'mon guys, it's not that old.
Glock is just playing catch-up to the other big players in the firearms field. Probably will be a separate line, and they'll continue to make traditional frames. Springfield did it with the XD - having traditional XD line and the XDm line. S&W jumped whole-heartedly into the adjustable backstrap field with it's plastic pistols ala the SW99 and M&P - and the M&P really doesn't look like the backstrap is separate until you take it off, thanks to the nice rubber overmolded backstrap design. I really like the M&P, and the adjustable backstraps are one reason why. I'm glad Glock is getting into this game - as even tho they're not terribly uncomfortable, there are comparable weapons on the market that are more comfortable to grip and shoot - ala the M&P.

Glock can recapture some of it's lost LE/.gov sales with this move. Good move on their part finally. Just wait - I bet they *gasp* might consider releasing models with brushed stainless slides down the line. They're one of the only plastic gun makers who don't do that now. But Glock still sells every gun they make - so it might be a while.

Now that is funny!
But on a serious note, this just continues the firearms market's obsession with "features." What happened to the good old days when a gun that worked well enough to fire every time you pulled the trigger was sufficient?

Today, I DEMAND that my gun be comfortable, pretty, play nice music, take my wife out to dinner, and of course, not offend my tender little fingers when I shoot.
"Wahh wahh! The safety should be ambidextrous! The magazine release should be nice-feeling! The grip should be adjustable!"
Man up, Nancies. Its a gun. It is made for the purpose of killing someone who is threatening your life, not accessorizing with pretty and ergonomically perfect parts!

/end rant.

6-9-09 is when the other thread was started! You guys act like it has been going for 3 years. Damn, half the people did'nt even believe it. If you don't check GT everyday this could be NEW NEWS.

What would you search for 'future Glock grip changes'....
I will buy one, should have been done long ago. Companies that don't adapt eventually die.

You are committing to buy the "new" Glock, before you even know what it is?
