    a) cz85 or glock17
    b) the one w/ the longest sight radius and crisp trigger pull
    c) ease of use, great trigger, endless supply parts, madali repair, and it's got a big hole in the end
    d) IMO, I'd just get a norinco and have a smith pimp it up

Best thing to do IMHO is make your rounds sa Makati Cinema Square. Handle all of the guns that appeal to you and then go to the range and rent a few. You can also wait for the gunshow.

30k is enough. A Norinco costs around 15k plus 6k for licensing. Shoot the heck out of it then decide what you want replaced as your skill level goes up. Maganda naman ang performance ng Nork out of the box eh. Ok din if you learn to completely take down your 1911 so you know what each part does para when you upgrade, you can prioritize according to what you want to improve on.

Then after 100 years, hopefully, tapos na yung dream 1911 mo!

Alang katapusan 'yan bro. So go slowly but surely.

You're doomed. The first thing you did wrong was to join this forum!!! Go straight to a 1911 hicap. Whatever you choose you'll end up wanting one anyway. I came from a 1911 single stack...... then to a glock 17..... then.... oh well ...the disease grows in you..

A sickness with no known cure. Dont break tradition. Start with a single stack 1911 (Norinco is the way to go), go to a hi-cap (Armscor will do), then to a 9mm (Glock or CZ) and finally graduate to an open gun. If you break this chain, you will encounter bad luck. If you follow this chain, you will never be rich, therefore you'll have a big chance to go to heaven.

Ask Doc EC, McO and the latest victim Pogi. Gundog has even gone thru a full cycle and has gone back to the 1911!

    :welcome:

    Welcome,

for 1911s you can also look at this site:
    www.m1911.org

My first competition pistol was only 20K; 30K should be good enough to buy other basic requirements.

    Good luck!!! :)

Norinco = cheap + tibay ng bakal
    Buy the whole gun
I havent seen what a norc looks like lately , pero basic mods I'd do agad-
    - new trigger and a very crisp 4lb trigger job
    - non snag high visibility sights
    - file off sharp edges on the gun
    - reliable mags
Anything else is just palamuti ( including that useless guide rod )

the 1911 is my fave gun but I wouldnt recommend it to a newbie
nakaka iyak kasi yan minsan, pag may sakit hindi ka rin makatulog

Hanap ka nalng ng 2nd hand cz or a tanfoglio that shoots reliably

If you got limited budget, then the Norinco is a good deal. I believe the Norinco also has the hicap version. Check it out also as you would eventually be wanting a hicap gun anyway. But if you got the cash, suggest you get like a Glock or a Para.

i started with 9mms (cz-75 & cz-100) then went on to .45s (colt and para) then had an affair with 5.56 (baby m16) but found out that my true love is a shottie (mossberg 590)

haay talagang endless search ang journey. lucky for you if you find your sweetie early in the cycle.kasi it changes as you gain experience (in tagalog-nagbabago hilig kapag tumatanda)

    first things first:

    1. please type correctly (pati spelling if possible) and avoid shortcuts ala text messages. this avoids miscommunication and headaches to the readers.

ang hrp mgbs n ntnd ng posts pg prng txt msg, db?

    2. try to search using key words like, 1911, norinco, armscor, ipsc, 9mm, 40 etc. dito sa BoG Forum. you'll usually find a lot of valuable info about what you're looking for. Majority ng mga common questions natanong and nasagot na sa mga old threads. if you can't find a definite answer, fire away, wala naman magrereklamo.

    3. all newbie bog members are required to donate 3 cases of beer for the regulars' refreshments, and...

    4. welcome to BoGs! enjoy your stay!
