    :wavey:Hi ya'll. I am the new guy. Great to be here.

    I just purchased a Glock 23 used. How am I to determine what generation it is? I keep seeing talk about generations an I would like to know what mine is.

    Very happy to be here.

    Mike

    Simple:

    No fingergrips = Gen2

    Fingergrips = Gen3

    Slide marked Gen4 = Gen4

    There are no Gen1 G23's

    Thanks Danny.

    I guess by finger grips you mean on the grip itself. My G23 does not have fingergrips, so I guess I am Gen 3?

    Thanks, Mike

    Yup, it's a Gen2 made between 1990 and 1998.
