Hi all, I am really considering a Glock for a CCW/home defense piece. I have previously only had 1911s. First an RIA GI .45, then a Springfield Loaded 1911A1 .45 (which I customized a fair bit) and a Colt S70 1911A1 .45. I want to switch to a Glock because I am just sick and tired of tinkering. Whether that be certain ammo that doesn't feed correctly, magazines where the tension is wrong or extractors that need adjustment, small parts that have to be fitted. I don't want to spend $3000 on a Wilson CQB. The Glock 21 is pretty large and the one I liked best is the Glock 19. I didn't like the Glock 30. How do you all feel about the effectiveness of the 9mm Luger round for home defense (not +P or anything, just FMJ and JHP)? Are there any caveats with Glocks I should be aware of like with 1911s? I just want an affordable piece that works reliably and I think Glock can give me that. Thanks.
