Heckler and Koch hammer fired pistols are in a class of their own. Once you have gotten to know one well, nothing else satisfies.

That is a good idea. Compared to the P30, that release is quite small.

Mind if I ask what that guy set you back? I have never shot an HK pistol I wasn't impressed with. I just picked up a gray frame LE USPC 9mm a few weeks ago. Have you ever shot an HK with the LEM trigger variant? It's definitely worth a look if you aren't familiar. Also, a suggestion that was made to me the day I picked the pistol up was to replace the mag release with the extended one similar to the OEM lever on the HK45C. It looks like it came that way and makes mag releases which were a bit difficult with my average sized hands effortless with either my thumb or trigger finger. Nice addition!

Edit: Didn't see cowboy1964 suggested the mag release already. Great advice!

I paid $835 for my USPc. It is not the LE, so only two magazines and no night sights. Kinda expensive but quality cost money. I did own a p2000 with the LEM trigger. But my X wife got that in the divorce. I liked it but always preferred the DA/SA models. BTW my USPc was built in 2019.

Congrats on a very nice weapon. I have a P229 Legion and while its a nice gun, it's not, well, one of these. For me, nothing beats a USPc in Stainless.....and, I'd have to say if I had to choose one of these, it'd be the .40. Maybe part of it is because everybody & their brother hates .40's these days. I guess I'm a little contrarian..... USPc's.jpg

    I scored a USPC357 a decade back & then got a 40 S&W barrel off the Hk Forum..
I really liked that pistol & the magazine release is the bomb, I used my trigger finger to actuate it.. Probably why I bought a USP 45 Tactical & a P7M8.. I did get great prices on all three of these Hks from various places..

USPC357 $350 from Cash America Pawn
    USP45Tactical $600 from KY Imports
P7M8 $429 from Cash America Pawn

Made quite a few dollars selling them off, But paid my house off & am retired at 53..

I've got 2 M11A1's (one black and the other FDE) which are just P229s without the rail. They are incredibly accurate and easy to shoot although a bit heavy for my liking.

I wasn't aware HK changed the grip. Can you post a pic?

Very nice! You did great, I would have loved to have found a USP Compact in .357 Sig, especially at that price.

P.S. I lived in Georgetown, IN for several years, so we were neighbors, somewhat. :]

3543A8D4-AEE6-4264-9684-CD800D5A9FF5.jpeg WOW. Nice catch! I love my Glocks but the engineering of the HK pistols takes them to a whole nuther level.

Their utility is in the sum of their parts. You cannot judge one until you have it on a combat course. They just work.

I still have the USPc9 I bought used in 2001 or 2002. It has been flawless. I almost bought a USPc45 the other day but talked myself out of that impulse buy.

Good info here. I have a chance to buy a NIB USP 9 Compact at the moment so this thread is quite timely!

Bought one on Gunbroker yesterday. V1, tritium sights, and a bobbed hammer. I guess I will be picking it up tomorrow, if my LGS isn't swamped with customers?

Enjoy! Hope you post a photo or two.....
Haven't been to a LGS in a while but I'd imagine they're a bit busy--when the SHTF criminals are tripplely looking for "opportunities"...

I'll certainly put up a pic or three? Also, every one at the shop is armed-gives a guy that warm and fuzzy feeling.:flag:

I really like the feel of the grip and other ergos. Looking forward to shooting it. Also a bonus that my P30 mags will fit!
