Before our next family camping trip I want to get a topper for my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, but have no idea about brands and prices. Any suggestions about specific brands to look for or avoid and price ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know this is kind of an old thread but I did the research and the A.R.E. is the way to go. The warranty, customer service and specs are the snit. Mine, on a Silverado, has interior lights, insulated and a rear window wiper/washer and was just under $2000. It's a very sweet truck camping setup. T.

I bought a Leer brand that was pretty sweet for $1000, custom painted to match my truck. I did have to modify the handle. It used cords to unlatch the locks on both sides. I changed the cords to metal rods and was good to go.
