Went to the knife shop today, Smoky Mountain Knife Works. Got a small fixed blade for EDC rotation. Iraq Jac. 1095. Black traction coating. Micarta with white liners. Kydex sheath with spring steel clip for belt/scout carry. Pretty cool. I think it's 5.3 oz. Razor sharp out the box. Thick. Feels like a little tank. I think I'm going to just right pocket carry. Easily fits in pocket and has a thumb push off point to just come out of pocket with blade very quickly. 20200726_175716.jpg 20200726_175702.jpg

be wary of very sharp, even small fixed blades or auto's in a pocket... i have a pair of jeans, thar a benchmade 2550 auto with a real sensitive button, open in the pocket and poke a hole through the pocket and through the jeans,, sticking out the full length of the blade.. thst could have gone badly. I dont carry it anymore..

This particular Tops model has a pretty cool kydex sheath so it's pretty secure but yeah that's something to be careful of. I had one knife, (with a weak detent)a flipper, that came open just a bit and when I reached in my pocket it got me all the way down the finger. Yeah of course it was stropped razor sharp.

I like Tops knives... just bought a Poker for my son to attach to his plate carrier while on patrol. He complained about the finish degrading on the CRKT minimalist he has now and this looked like a better quality replacement.

looked at the Iraq Jac and the Baghdad bullet online, glad to hear your opinion. I may order one or both now.

    thanks!
