This one is not West German as far as I can tell, but feels good. Find out how it runs this weekend but I know it'll be fine as I know the previous owner and he used it as an offduty piece for years.

Once I get it checked out myself it'll end up in the safe on my wife's side of the bed and I'll be "allowed" to take it to the range, and possibly but new sights on it :)

    Congrats!
The P228 has a fantastic balance that I really enjoy. The stamped sheet metal slides feel so much better in the hand than the P229s.

The 228 is a great pistol. good feel and good balance. I like mine better than my m11a1 and my 229.

How so? I have a Sig 228, feels absolutely the same as my newer Sig 229’s. My West German Sig 220 feels the same as my modern 220, except the trigger and accuracy, is superior to the modern Sig.

I find the narrower frame of the 228 and 226 more pleasant in the hand over the fatter framed 229 (well, the newer 229-1 anyway). I suppose if you have the E2 grips they feel about the same, but I strongly dislike the contours of the E2.
