So I'm new to Glock. I was debating between a 17 and a 45/19x. Lo and behold, the 47 just came out, and I thought why not. So, I'm looking for a recommended aftermarket 19 slide to give me the 45 whenever I want to run that. I saw something on here about Gen 4 slides not being 100% compatible. Then saw something else that basically said it's fine as long as you get a backplate. Thoughts, advice, perspectives, and any other encouragement or ridicule would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

New to Glock. Just got a Glock 47. Recommended 19 Slide (to get a 45)
I concur on getting a g19. For the price you will pay for the slide its a no brainer. All the internal parts will be the same in the frame also.
Concur with buying a complete G19. You could put the 47 slide on the 19 and have a long slide 19 as well.
I hate to state the obvious here, but if you're going to buy a 19 just to have a slide to make the 47 into a 45, why not buy a 45 and be done with it? No slide swapping and you know everything works.
