Hey everybody. Ive been reading on here almost nightly for the past month just filling my head with all the great info yall have to offer. I've always shot rifles and shotguns but I picked up my first handgun this weekend. I may have overpaid slightly but I was getting anxious as the cheapest local dealer in my area that had said they would have a glock shipment in 3 days has taken over a month. I had a local gunshow and dropped by and found a glock 19 listed for 500 but was able to get him down to 475. I'm very happy with it the deal and it was a RTF which I really like. Anyways I look forward to chatting and contributing in the time to come.

I picked the 9mm just because money is tight because of school and i want to shoot and shoot as much as possible. It helps also that I have a nearby walmart that ALWAYS has 9mm ammo. I've been buying a box every week now for a month or so. Picked up a couple 100 Win White Boxes last night to make sure I had enough for the first range visit.

I'm in NC by the way. Ammo seems to be becoming more easily available.

$475 is about the average price for a G19, so you did well. Congrats on an excellent firearm, and welcome to the forum fourthandgoal66. :wavey:

Bought a NIB off Gunbroker .com $460 delivered and my FFL dealer charges me $15 so looks like $475 to me. That's a good price.

The dealer I had lined to buy from was just 10 under what I paid so hearing these other prices make me feel pretty good. I've seen a few used in shops for around 420 or so but I figured another 80 for a new was worth it. And its new for sure the date on it was January 2010.

Great to hear I got a good deal. I'm going to join the local indoor range probably tomorrow afternoon after work. Their rate runs roughly 12 bucks a month for unlimited use so I think thats pretty fair. Just ready to start shooting. I'm sick of looking at it already.

Yeah, like they all said.. Congrats on the 19. I have one also and love it. I am in NC too, been stationed here for almost 11 years in the Air Force. Also, I have Walmart in my speed dial and I call them daily to check for 45 and 9mm ammo because thier prices are alot lower than anyone else around here. Welcome to the Forum too.
