New stock for a Mossberg

Ok i'm confused. Perhaps should have not read the stuff I did....because now...i don't know what stock to get.

What's the deal on short and long actions on Mossbergs? I have a stock I'd like to replace on an field grade Moss. 500. The shotgun was purchased about two years ago.

What I'd like is a standard police ribbed forenend.

What's the deal?

No difference on the stock, but there is a difference on the forearm.

Havlin Sales explains it on their web site: http://www.havlinsales.com/ click on the link to Modern Shotgun Parts.

Right! I think I got it figured out. Anything with a serial number before the letter K is a long action...

This is confusing. I sent an email to Mossberg to confirm it.
