It really depends on how the plates are adjusted, and the plate thickness itself.

A local outlaw match I do with a club has a falling plate match, and a designated RIMFIRE rack with thinner plates. We also TUNED the plates each match to optimize falling without compromising sympathy falls. The plates were falling even from 25 yards with RIMFIRE. But the plates are set up every so slightly forward.

I can see where at a GSSF match with non local RO's not familiar with shooting steel not aware that the plate rack might need to be adjusted every time you move it (unless you set it up all the time on level concrete).

The plate racks at a GSSF are typically calibrated for 9mm and are ring and paint for the .380 and .22. I don’t foresee that changing due to the fact a plate calibrated for .22 would fall much to easily with a .45 or 10mm. I know how beefy GSSF’s plate racks are and I didn’t think a .22 would knock them down, was just curious.

It knocked over almost half the plates I shot.

    I was suprised.

C’mon ChrisJN, the longest shot in Mobile was only 22.86 meters.

I think there’s an appeal rule to check calibration on steel targets.

Ok, Larry. Perhaps I should have said, "The targets appeared much closer than my last match in Mobile AL". Anyways I had some better scores than Mobile and also my worst ever in Pocket Glock due to malfunctions. Hope to see you in Montgomery. Can't make Tallahasee.
    P.S. What's with the 'meters'?

ChrisJN, just giving you friendly grief. And playing on imperial vs metric measurements.
Far targets at Mobile we’re 25yd, aka 22.86m

Finals posted, looks like I got a 50 random. Considering it felt like I had to use crazy glue to keep my Glock 29 running ill take it.

Are you referencing finals posted for New Smyrna? I must be looking in the wrong place because I can’t find it? Can someone point me in the right direction for New Smyrna finals? Thanks

Wow! I won a Random Pistol !!!! May I asked what the next steps are? Does GSSF mail me something automatically or do I need to contact them? Are the gun choices listed on the certificate? Sorry for the questions but I am freaking THRILLED!!

The certificate will explain everything. Only the most basic of models or odd ball calibers don't have upgrade fees. The hardest part is finding an FFL that will process the certificate for you. It takes 4+ months to get the pistol into your FFL.

You pay taxes associated with the upgrade fee if you choose to go that route, and Glock itself will send you a 1099 next year for taxes.

Just to clarify- will GSSF just send me the certificate automatically based on them drawing my name or do I make contact with them since I saw my name drawn? I’m assuming they automatically send me something but wanted to ask. Thanks
