new serial # on a recalled GSSF 17??

    If we send in our GSSF 17, will it definitely get a new/generic serial # ?;d

    Only Glock can answer your question, but I expect the serial number would become 1GSSFxxx

    I just spoke them and Danny is correct. They will give you a new frame with a 1 prefix added to your GSSFnnn serial number.

    will you get 1gssf123

    or might you end up with 1gssf348

    A #1 will be added to any replacement frames as a prefix.

    I would not count on Glock contacting you if you have a gun that is in the upgrade list even if you sent your cards in. They are concentrating on LE guns at present time to a certain degree. We have some at work that are under the recall, cards were sent, there was no contact. They are going to replace our frames.

    You will have to ship your complete gun to Glock. You can do this via FedEx or UPS. According to their rules, it must go Next Day or Overnight.
    You do not have to ship to an FFL or from an FFL. You can ship directly to Glock as an indiviual.
    NOW, depending on your state restrictions, it may have to be shipped back to an FFL. Here in NJ it would have to be shipped back to an FFL and technically repurchased with a Pistol Permit. It is coming back with a new serial number on the frame, making it a different weapon for registration purposes. SORRY
