these look interesting to me, but they are perhaps a little long for pocket carry. i wouldn't mind an extra 1/2" of barrel on my 642, but i shoot it pretty well as-is.

Well no, at least for me it's a poor idea. If I'm gonna get that extra 1/2 + of barrel, I would perfer a M66 or a M64 (yea, a 2 1/2 fix sighted K frame, stainless of course.)

In fact, I've always wondered why they didn't bring back the model 12. Yes a K frame air weight six shot .38/.357. 2 1/2 fixed sighted snub.

To me, for those wishing for a 'compact' revolver for CCW, such a gun would be the one to get.

I kind of like it, will have to check it out. Wife doesn't like the report of the 2 1/8" this may be better for her.

    My wife has one.

    Nice quality firearm.

    Kicks like a mule.

Longer barrel stabilizes the gun better in a hip holster.

My 2.25" SP101 fits in my pocket fine provided I'm wearing relaxed fit jeans or something along those lines... the biggest burden to carrying is the weight. Sometimes the grips come close to the lip of my pocket, but not enough to be a concern.

Still, the 1 7/8" barrel would be easier for sure.

I think the extra 5/8" length to the barrel would not affect pocket carry, at least for me it wouldn't, there would be a slight ballistics gain plus the addition of the black front sight makes this one a worthwhile improvement.

The more I think about it the more I want one!

I like the idea, just for the sake of the longer extractor throw and extra 75fps or more you could get.

very true, a lot depends on the pockets. it's funny, but when i go shopping for pants and shorts, i always bring along both my pocket carry guns just to see if they fit lol

Very interesting. Like they are giving you more options but I'll stay with the 642 I have.

I don't really see a need for it. It's too big to pocket carry. I jump up to a .357 if I wanted a larger revolver than the 642.

    This.

I'm not big on pocket carry anyway, for a small wheelgun I'd much rather have a 2.5" .357 magnum with adjustable sights.

Either THIS, where the longer barrel is good.

Or, for other people, the preference for the shorter because it conceals better.

The only solution is to own both :) (but not for me, my short barreled is fine).
