Yes, I remember my disapproval of the $2000 10 MP Nikon.

But this one may essentially be a D70 with a 10MP sensor.
If it is priced at about $1250, with kit lens, it would be acceptable to me, even if it has the SD memory card which it does. See the photos on DP Review.

Normally 6MP should be acceptable for most users. I sometimes make very large blow ups of my photos for maximum impact. Larger than 16 x 20, so I need the extra MPs.

I hate to admit it here but I just sold a Glock 27 to help me pay for the D80 which I will buy.

I still have another G27 as well as two G22s (one of which is also for sale) and a G19.

I just noticed a price drop in the D200 with kit lens.

I am still waiting for the D80 unless the price of the D200 drops even more.

Those Canon DSLRs are bargain prices.

Just noticed B&H has the new 10 MP Canon Rebel XTI at $899 with kit lens. The Rebel XT is $749 with kit lens.
The Nikon D70s is $875 with kit lens and the D50 now $699 with lens.

Those prices are dropping faster than computers.

The new Rebel XTI has a dust elimination system which is very nice.

Just ordered a Nikon D50 from B&H which has them back in stock at $600 including kit lens.
Since I have Nikon film SLRs I have a lot of lenses which will fit this camera which is one reason I bought it, aside from the fact it is being discontinued in favor of the D40 which will not handle my lens collection.

I will post my thoughts on it when I learn how to use it.

Yes, the D50 and D70S are still shown in Nikon's site line up but few camera stores have the D70S in stock.

Anyway I was pleased to find a D50 from a reputable dealer at a good price which fit my current Nikon lenses. I have some nice expensive ones including a 35mm F:2.8, 50mm F:1.4, 105mm F: 2.5, 200 mm F:4, 70-300mm zoom, and a 28-200 D series zoom.
