Nikon announced their new D200 SLR today.
10 mp.

According to dpreview the price in Euros is equal to $2688,
with the 18-70 kit lens.

I would like 10 mp but will not pay $2688.

Digital camera resource says the body will retail in the US at $1699. I think the kit lens is $350.

could be. I was surprised at the flash sync speed capapbility being reduced to 1/200. might have to do with the different shutter.

thats nothing more than internet and camera shop speculation. no OFFICIAL word from Nikon about that. in fact, Nikon's site seems to imply that the 70 may be discontinued instead;

anyway, congrats on the new camera. I've been very happy with mine.
