Alas, it has nothing that the G7 doesn't, except smaller size. Pity that Nikon decided to stop at an also-ran instead of excite the market with RAW, brighter lens, or wider zoom. As for comments on dpreview, they appear quite muted and pensive except for a few beginning posts from folks who did not see the whole specs.

Cameras of yore, such as Olympus 8080 would still set the world on fire if they were released today compared to the modern crop of underachievers.

I forgot to add one more disappointment - Nikon persists in offering framing-only preview on the LCD. Canons offer WYSIWYG preview, including effects of manual settings on the image. That is a major difference in my book.

Canon owns the non-dslr digi market. I have a NIKON sickness, I think that My blood is NIKON yellow, but I bought my daughter a ....cough... Canon PaS. But never fear, a NIKON dslr will be her b-day present, and the little Canon A520 will go in my tackle box for fishing trip pics.
