First off I want to thank all of you for putting together a data base. I could not find Info on my gun anywhere. I went down to my local gun store to buy a new G17, Most of my other handguns are 9mm so It made since. Never owned a Glock but have fired them and always liked them just always have a problem spending money I suppose. Uncle sam was nice enough to give me back some of my money so without putting much thought Into It I went down to get It before I saw something else I couldnt live without. But they were all out of G17's except for a used one. I didn't give much thought to It just asked the guy to find out when they would get more new ones In. He told me maybe a week or so, Knowing myself, I wouldn't be back In a week for that, I mean after all this money Is burning a massive hole In my pocket. So I ask to look at the used one. I broke It down and It appeared to have no wear at all, no holster wear no scratches, nothing at all. I said I'll take It knowing It was at least a 3rd gen I figured It was a great deal for 450$... It was bothering me I didnt know how old the gun was. I looked everywhere and nothing. Then I found you guy's and at last Aug 2008. To say the least Im very pleased fairly new and hardly used someone diddnt want It and now It's mine. I pick It up the 24th since Im here In California I must wait. But a big thank's to everyone here.

My brother has an XD and he was trying to get me on those but I really hate the grip safety. It Is a nice gun to shoot though. I have fired a glock before In .40 Im not sure the model but It was real easy to handle and I have 9mm already stocked up at home so I went with the G17. I dunno what to get next.

Great gun..Check out the Talon Grips. Youtube Glock and watch Hickok45 videos..Fun stuff..I recommend the 25 cent trigger job. You will have a better trigger and you will learn a lot about you gun!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new G17! I had a G26 for almost 2 years. During that time I put maybe 300 rounds through it, then sold it. Just didn't work for me. So, maybe the G17 that you bought just didn't work out for its old owner. There are pistols like that out there. HARD to wear a Glock out anyway! Still trying on my first generation G17.
The very best of luck to you with your new Glock.
