I just got 2 new G23 mags. And the mag isn't sitting flush with the bottom of the grip. It sticks out a lot more than my other mags. It is the same way with both of them. These mags have the ambi cut out on the front. Id this the way the mags are now, or is this abnormal.

The mags are fully loaded and inserted fully and properly. Maybe the springs have to wear in a little?

Nothing to do with the spring,.....it's just how the new mags are.

Wow, I have to say I am a little disappointed in that. I would have hoped they would sit more flush like the older mags do. Not that it makes a huge difference, but it looks cheap.

Does it affect the functionality of your firearm?
    If the answer is:
    Yes -Problem
    No -Then no problem

    Act accordingly.

Where did you get them from? They do look funny. I just got 4 new mags for 2 different places and they don't look like this. Do they operate any differently?

They seem to operate fine. I did get one FTRB, but that is my gun, I need a new recoil spring. I got it with my other mags too. I checked some of the other G23's at the range and all the new mags look the same. Pisses me off because it looks cheap and the older non ambi cut out post ban mags fit better and work perfectly. Oh well. My sis is mailing them to me from Texas, I've been using my NY pre-ban 13 rounders, but I ventured my way into a "free state" again. Now I have a total of 11 magazines for my G23. 8- 13 rounders, and 3- tyrannical 10 rounders.

It's a little more complicated than that. If it pinches, or he doesn't like the grip feel, where he was OK with previous mags, it is a problem.

The user is part of the formula and the equation, hence, if affects functionality, then the user should act accordingly.
    I stand correct.:whistling:

My 13 rd window mags sit a little further out than the 10 rd mags that came with my G23.

I wonder if they are just using different followers and springs in the higher capacity magazine tubes to make the lower capacity magazines.

Don't think this is anything new. Doesn't look any worse than my Gen 3 G17 with the old type mags. I never liked the look, but it works fine, and I've seen others that look like mine. Pictured is 2005 G17 w/ one of themags that came with the gun.

It seems the new mags are few mm taller than the older mags.

While it may be an aesthetic issue to you. It will not adversely affect the performance of your Glock.

If you want a flush fitting mag, you will need an older or NFML mag.

Yea, I have some of the pre ban FML mags that sit pretty close to flush. The ones I have work fine, just look sloppy. Oh well, beauty is the gun going bang 14 times in a row.

Which makes no sense because the mags that sit almost flush work fine. Ok, I'm just spit balling here, but does anyone think it might be possible that Glock will extend the grip length those 2mm on the 4th gen G19/23/32's? I wonder. The gap seems too big to "just be". IMO, if they did this that would be GREAT. I know some people like the size of the compacts, but complain that their pinky doesn't get all the way on the grip.

I called Glock a while back (About a year ago) in regards to the way the new, ambi cut mags are seating. The rep told me that is the way they were designed. There is nothing wrong with them unless they are malfucntioning.

This was concerning my G17 mags.

Now, I have 4 non ambi cut magazines for my G17. They do not seat flush but they seat more flush than the newer magazines. I have not had any new G19 magazines to compare. But I'm sure they would look the same.

    Just my .02

Seems like that little gap at the bottom should make it easier to rip the mag out during a quick reload. I know my empty mags don't always like to drop free on their own, so I'm used to fumbling around for a grip on the base of the mag.
