I'm not sure on the license agreement on Norton products, but I'd say its highly unlikely.

Don't waste your time with Mcafee/Norton bloatware.

    Excellent free virus scanners

http://www.grisoft.com - Also home of a very good Anti spyware tool called Ewido

    http://www.antivir.com

    Of the 3, I like AVG/Grisoft.

I have had several issues with Norton not being up to par, a few viri and spyware were not found and addressed. I deep sixed it last week for Zone Alarm Security suite; Firewall, antiviri, antispyware etc...

It is light on it's feet and works well on Win2K and above. ;)

While I have no experience with ZA security suite. If I was going to pay for Antivirus, and needed a software firewall, I'd probably use Kaspersky's internet suite. Their virus scanner always gets high marks.

I’ve bought two laptops in the past six months for personal use. Both came with Symantec/Norton whatever installed. Before doing anything else, I uninstalled everything Symantec/Norton and added Trend Micro Internet Security. I don't necessarily advocate the Trend; I do recommend throwing out everything Symantec/Norton.

I've had no problems ever since switching from Norton's to NOD32. It's about the same price and it works much better. The user interface isn't as nice but it works much better
