The Cedar Grove Ambulance & Rescue Squad said that it would be suspending service for the first time in its 84-year history after some members began showing symptoms but had difficulty getting tested.

The ALL VOLUNTEER squad is suspending its services temporarily in order to protect its members and their families from COVID-19.

The VOLUNTEER squad raises its own funding. Now the cheap bastards who run the town will have to hire professional EMTs and Paramedics to provide emergency medical services. However, there is no legal requirement for a town to provide EMS.

    The squad served 13,000 residents.

I know my fire chief is a bit paranoid about "losing" the fire department due to quarantine. We only do limited medical response now... but if our ambulance has personnel go into quarantine, we will be responding.
