My UBG Canute for my Springfield Mil-Spec arrived today. Expected wait time was 4 to 6 weeks and it arrived exactly 4 weeks after ordering.

The overall quality is excellent. The holster holds the 1911 tight against my side and it has a lot of forward cant. This holster spreads the weight out nicely. I've never been able to conceal a full size pistol very well but with the Canute and 1911 combo it's pretty easy with just a T-shirt.

My EDC is a G26 but I have some 230gr HSTs on the way to try out. If the Mil-Spec proves reliable with those then it's going to get some serious carry time. 1911s are starting to win me over.

I have owned a number of UBG holsters over the years (mostly Canutes) and they are a good quality holster.

Also check out High Desert Leather for more custom designs. They’re “neighbors”

I am very impressed with the quality for the price. It's much nicer than others in the same price range. I'm glad I did my homework. Nate does great work.

I'll keep High Desert Leather in mind in the future.

I lived in Utah for a bit when Nate was starting out. If my memory serves me right, he taught the guy at High Desert Leather to make holsters as a lot of people were asking Nate for custom holsters. High Desert did the custom work and Nate stuck to the patterned holsters. I could be mistaken in my memory though. But their patterned holsters are very similar.

I've carried a 1911 on and off over the years in a iwb . I want a holsters that allows for easy re holstering so I can do my draw and fire drills and with out some kind of insert around the top edge that's hard to do . I used a MTAC for many years and the wider leather back sides do make for comfortable carry for sure .

That’s a beaut you got there...kinda proves that it doesn’t have to take a lot of leather to make a great holster...it’s all in how it’s used...great choice...

Thanks. I have always been a polymer pistol and kydex guy. This is my first 1911 and my first leather holster. I've enjoyed learning about both.

    Looks good to me!

I've had several UBG holsters over the years, very reasonable price for custom leather holsters.

They're very reasonable. I've been carrying this one a little over half of the time now and it has broken in nicely. 1911s are pretty heavy but the Canute spreads the weight out and carries well.
