    I’m blaming Brian (bac1023) for this….and I haven’t even met him!

I’ve been looking for a nice 9mm target pistol for a while now but never quite found what I was looking for. The CZ Tactical Sport came very close but I would have had to make a couple of changes (adjustable sights, etc.) and already having a few CZs, I guess I was looking for something a little different. Unfortunately, many of the real tack-drivers that Brian and others have written about are outside of my financial capabilities at this time. So no Smith PC guns, Pardinis, or Sig X-Fives for me....

Then I remembered Brian stating that the HK USP Expert (and Elite) were two of the very few polymer pistols that he would be interested in due to their quality and accuracy, so I made it a point to get some trigger time on the Expert that my Father-in-law has. I was quite impressed and decided to order one this past weekend. Unfortunately, my local store was unable to find one in stock at any of their distributors, so I decided to hit Gunbroker and some of the online shops to see what I could find. As it turns out, I’m rather glad for the delay as the Father-in-law came through in a big way. He found this on consignment at one of the GB stores that he has done business with over the years (he used to be a competitive trap-shooter) and, as my birthday is next month, offered to toss in $400 towards the purchase!

As of this weekend, I will own my first USP and my second HK. It’s been a long time since I was this eager to take delivery of a new firearm.

You've got a very nice handgun. And a pretty good Daddy-In-Law as well.

    Enjoy spending time with both.

Very nice, congrats. You definitely need to give a range report after you get acquainted with that beauty.

    Very nice!!
I had a USP Tactical years ago that was easily one of the most accurate handguns I've ever shot. I'm sure you'll be very happy shooting the Elite. Congrats!

Very nice. You're not the first to have a "BAC made me do it moment". In fact, some years back, there was an actual thread on that, IIRC.

Ain't that the truth. BAC's contribution into the world of fine firearms and knowledge has definitely enriched this forum.

Thanks everyone. I got some more good news from the seller last night. The original owner found a third 18-round magazine in his safe and tossed it in the deal as well!

He is the very definition of a bad/good influence, isn't he? I was always peripherally aware of Pardinis, Manurhins, Korths, etc, but now I specifically look for them at shows and stores. I've learned a lot from his posts and really appreciate his reviews and photography!

The only downside to this whole acquisition is that I have a suspicion that this will be the start of multiple USP 9mms. I mean, it only makes sense to have a couple of others, just in case, right?
