    Wife bought me a Ruger New Super Blackhawk Hunter in .45LC yesterday! :D I have an awesome wife! Of course, I left some very obvious hints as to what I wanted...like a printed out picture of the gun and where to buy it :cool:
    But it was still her idea to buy it for me..out of the blue (she said "I've been thinking about buying you a gun.." ;P thats when I printed out the picture!).
    I can't wait to try it out, very beautiful gun perfect for hunting whitetails and pigs and I've just started reloading for the .45 Colt. My first successful handgun hunt was just last fall with my 5.5" Vaquero, so now I can justify trying out a new gun to "bloody" it too (nearly every gun I have goes hunting at least once).
    Apparently Lipsey's was the original special distributor of the gun, but Cabela's got some. I'm curious just how many were made.

    Nice gun - and nice wife!

    I've got similar in .454. Very pleased, except for the weight!

    FWIW, I noticed today that Double Tap is now loading some for the 45LC. IIRC, 335g cast at around 1300 fps. I'd fear the pig THAT would not penetrate!

    Ha! Sorry, there is no posting of a picture of the wife, then you guys would REALLY be jealous. It was funny though when my little 5'3" wife held out this huge handgun and aimed it, it looks as big as her arm, I will try to take a pic of that ;).

    Hey Noway, any idea how many of these were produced?

    No idea but they ( 45colt and the hunter ) seems to be one of the hardest to fine. Even you do sell it alot of people are paying almost new prices or at least what I paid for mine NEW.

    I did do some work on mine and proud to say it's a better performer. I'm still have to get uses to this SA-only and I hate to say I choke on targets and even game animals pull on the trigger and wondering why the gun would not discharge ,oops -------- I frogot to cock it ;)

    here's mine with the following;

    7.5"bbl hunter (45colt )
    #5 mountain base pin
    hogue grips
    reamed cylinder throats
    bisley hammer
    4x leupold

    I'm still trying out various loads and bullets so allI can say for you, is just shoot it before making any modifications and changes ;)
