Here's the deal...I have the opportunity to get another glock at well below retail (less than $500 NIB with night sights). Should I get another 23 (the only glock I have presently is a 23) or add a 27 to the collection? Also, this weapon would be for car carry (and other options if the 27...like CCW). I love the 23 and like the idea of having the same set-up for home defense and in the car if the SHTF.

Thoughts on the selection and if car carry is a good idea (I travel via the car a lot and have a CC license). Thanks in advance!!!!

While there is alot to be said for the simplicity of having the same gun, I might consider one in a different caliber just in case it became difficult to find .40. My limited experience suggests it is not especially difficult going from one Glock to another, as the manipulating each is about the same.

I forgot to mention that my 23 is only a few weeks old and I can't stop thinking about shooting it. 500 rounds down range so far, 9mm converison barrel ordered, just purchased 500 9mm rounds online and currently "looking" for more 40 s&w. This is the most fun you can have wile vertical!!!!!

Isn't variety the spice of life? I would personally grab a different caliber or the 22 or 27 to go along with your 23.

I would get the G27. I've had one for 12 flawless years, and its my EDC. I also have the G23 and if going to the "big, bad, city" I borrow one of the G23 mags and stick it in my G27. With the mag sleeve it works well and its nice to have 4 more rounds....just in case.

I would get a G19 (I have both) as it gives you almost the SAME gun but in 9mm. This allows you to shoot 9mm at the range (cheaper) and maintain the same feel as your EDC weapon the G23. Your spare parts kit and holsters are interchangeable for the most part.

Yes, I know you can get a 9mm drop in barrel but it is more FUN to buy another Glock!

I was in the same situation. Had a 23 and wanted another. got the 22 just so I had similar but different. My next plan was for a 26 but I changed my mind and now decided 27 is a more sensible way to go. All .40(which I already load for)and all 3 sizes for different needs.

Get the G27 for simplicity but with a little bit of a different change, and then buy a 9mm "Conversion" barrel for your G23 which will also work as an extended 9mm barrel in your G27. You don't need two separate barrels.

i have a 23 and just bought a 27 and couldn't be happier with that combo. the 23 seems so much bigger now that i have a 27. by specs there doesn't seem that much difference but in reality [carry and handleing] there is. with both the 23 or the 27 you can get other barrels in 9mm or 357 sig. for about 100.00 a caliber.

I have a 23 for my house and 26 for my truck. I bought the 26 because I can slip it into my pocket when I need to and 40 S&W ammo is damn hard to find.....and I bought the 26 to have something different.

The G27 is a nice carry weapon. It's become a regular for range trips.

May I suggest a G33 for CC and car use. For me the .357sig round is much more accurate and follow up shots are easier. Buy a GAP floorplate for your sub Glocks.

I have a G27 and LOVE the size. However after the fact, I fell in LOVE with the 357 Sig caliber. Therefore my EDC is the G27 with a G33 barrell. I would recomend that you try to shoot a G33 if possible and see if you like it.

I have a 23 and a 27 and love both of them. The 27 is my EDC and the 23 is my truck gun.
