I have been a gun owner for almost 16 years now. I have recently changed hobbies and decided to pickup USPSA production class shooting. I thought this would mould great with my love of competition and guns. I decided that Glock would be the best option for me mainly because of the aftermarket options widely available.

I took it this week and after racking the slide the first time I figured I needed to run about 1K rounds thru it to get it broke in. I am shooting reloads 1) because it is way cheaper 2) USPSA power factor deal. I am having some light primer strike issues with my pistol and need to know where to post a question. Any help would be awesome.

What model Glock? Is it stock or have you fiddled around with aftermarket parts and home gunsmithing? What primers are you using?

I'm not an armorer, but these are the questions that an Glock armorer would ask.

It should work from the factory with any primer. Have you verified that he’s not giving you high primers?

Probably high primers. Did they fire on the second strike?

Put a box of factory FMJ rounds through it and see if the problem goes away. If so, then try the reloading forum: focus on the ammo.

If you have the same problem with factory ammo, focus on the gun.

That's awesome advice. Thanks again. At the time it really was not a big deal for me. But driving home thing about it causes some concerns of my plan is shoot this stuff for competition.

I had a similar problem with my Glock 20 and I solved it by replicating the spacing / crimp on the case mouth from factory ammo. It was just a hair below what my reloading manual said. I was seating my primers two or three times and I still couldn't eliminate the problem. But, the round was not seating in the chamber consistently until I got the case mouth / crimping dimensions correct.

Then, recently, I had the opposite problem with a Redhawk revolver where a loose part on my Dillon 550 actually was preventing the primers from being seated properly. :brickwall:
Again, you'll likely get good advice in the reloading forum:
