What are your new goals for the new upcoming season?

I have 2 Goals for the 2003/2004 season:

    (1) Two "A" Class wins in AmCiv
    (2) Do my best to help the Team Sidearmor AmCiv Team equal the Team Sidearmor Stockmeister Team in Plaque winnings.

I want to try to SLOW down, and get hits, I tend to shoot fast in the matches, and I am starting with the Indoor matches to warm up for the Outdoor ones.

That and see if we can get a SECOND Place (or better) Place in the Am. Civ. Team matches.

The most important goal is to remember to have fun and shoot safely.

Good luck to all (but not to good) Safe Shooting, and I will se ya at the matches.

Shoot Ulimited at 40 or less. Shoot Stockmaster at 45 or less. Remain undefeated in master team.

It must be nice to be undefeated in Stockmeister. Out of 17 Stockmeister entries, we only won 16 matches.;Q

My Goals for the GSSF were simple in the begining and still apply today.

    1. Compete in a GSSF match..... Met
    2. Shoot a clean score in a match... Still working
    3. Break 100 in a GSSF match... Met
    4. Break 100 in a match WITH a clean score... Still working
    5. Compete on a GSSF Team ... Met
    6. Win a pistol in a match ... Met (Woo Hoo I did it!!! :) )
    7. Win a GSSF team Plaque ... Still working (Come on Carolina Crew)
    8. Get Promoted to "Master" Class... Still working
    9. Beat Fireglock in a match... Still working
    10. Last but not least become a Life Member... Still working

Once I get past this list I will reformulate a new set of Goals befitting my exalted position. ;Q

On a serious note I can not over emphasise the point of shooting slow in a hurry. :)

I have had much better scores since I left the idea of a fast run and went with an accurate run first. I save a lot of time on the bottom line this way. The seconds added from misses and "D" zone +5's to my score is far more painful than taking a few extra seconds to get a good sight picture and those A/B zone hits. A GSSF New year's resolution is to practice accuracy and let the "speed" find its on way.

Well I think 50s in Stock Meister and 40s in Unlimited would be a good start. I have a few others for later. :)

My goals aren't as lofty as some of the others. I'd just like to break 115 in AmCiv. That would cut my time in half from my first (and only so far) match.

    Tracy,

Good luck with your goal. Hope you can do it. The Carrollton match is May 3-4.

By SA this year, I think I can. I'm in the high 120s now.

You're right ... slow is the key. I'm working on better trigger control now. When I concentrate on that I do pretty well.

    See ya in Dallas!

Remeber to bring the right guns with me so I can finally shoot AmCiv and to do all the stages without completely screwing one up. A top 5 finish in one of the groups I shoot in.

....dropped 20 seconds this past year by listening to pointers and training.

Will be shooting for low 50s in 2003 in stockmeister and unlimited.
..and will attempt to break into the "masters" level IDPA shooting with all those other DOD employees that get a clothing allowance, grow their hair long, and use mammal & greek letters for names.

My goal last year was to break 100 and place in the top 10 of Am. Civ. Well, I never broke 100 and 9th was my highest place, so I'm keeping that as one of my goals for this year. I shot 3 matches last year, I'm going to try and shoot 4 or 5 this year. I also got a G26, so I'm going to try my luck with the "little" gun.

Immediate goal: Practice. At least 2000 round before Dallas.
Lofty long term goal: Win a gun in master class (after Bobby and Tony retire!!!)

Beat my best times, Shoot as good as Jerry, Make Jerry laugh so hard on a Fri. or Sat. night that he tinkles his pants, Continue to give helpful hints to Philip, and most of all, see all my friends and have a good time. P.S. A gun in each class would be a nice side benefit.

I think I might be a bit RUSTY...

I just got back from an Indoor G.S.S.F. match (Barron's Den Eugene, OR.), and the S L O W idea sounded a lot better than it worked. I think it may be time to rethink this years goals from slow to FAST, and ACCURATE. It is going to be an interesting year.

Take care all, see you in March at the Barron's Den G.S.S.F. Indoor match.

Safe and fun shooting to ALL!
