I don't follow all of the new Glock Xgun releases to close and am wondering if Glock is selling a G19 with a G26 size frame?

I would like a G26 slide on a G19 frame! Maybe we will see in a couple of months.

    That would be awesome!

I'd also like to see a 26 slide on a 17 frame. Sounds wack, but I'd buy two.

    How about a G40 slide on a G42 frame?

I appendix carry a 26 in a 19 holster. Tried the 19 appendix but just not as concealable. Anyways, I like the longer holster, balances it out. So yeah, a 17 or 19 slide on a 26 frame. I’m game. They can even name it after me.

Ok, nothing from the factory, a local gunsmith says he can cut the 19 frame down to the 26 size. Anyone had experience with this modification?

    I did a G27 sized grip chop on a G22. Worked great

I had the chance to shoot one and I didn't like the way it balanced in my hands.

The theory is that a shorter grip is easier to conceal regardless of barrel length and that more weight out front provides better stability.

That's the theory, but in practice it doesn't really work out that way. The other theories that surround this long barrel/short grip configuration is that it gives you more sight radius and more velocity. But in practice, the difference in sight radius and barrel length are only about a half and inch between a G17 and a G19 and the difference in barrel length between a G26 and a G19 is only slightly more than a half and inch. 3.43" vs 4.01".

Since the average gain/loss per inch of barrel is 50 fps, with a difference of only a half an inch more or less, we're talking about a difference of a mere 25 fps, and velocities will vary that much between different individual barrels of the same length.

And as far as sight radius, many people shoot a 26 just as accurately as a 19 or a 17. Then there's the matter of grip comfort. A longer grip is more comfortable than a shorter one. So if you're willing to put up with a shorter grip for greater concealability, why not have a shorter barrel to go with it?

I think Glock got it right with the shorter barrel/longer grip configuration of the G17x and the G45. I've shot both of these guns and I've shot a G19 with the shorter grip, and I like the feel and the balance and the accuracy of the G45 much better, and if I wanted a more concealable gun, I'd just go with a G19, G26 of G27.

And with something like a 357 Sig, where I wanted a longer barrel to get every single last FPS out of the cartridge, I'd still rather have a G33 with the shorter slide and put a G32 length barrel in it that stuck out only a half inch past the front of the slide.

I’ve shot a couple g22s with a g23 sized grip after being chopped off. Always loved that combination.

Shorter slides and longer frames are shooters and I would get a 26 with a 19 frame. I don't like that I would do this, but, it works very well. The 45 and 43x made me a believer.
