Question to those who have a lot of experience with Glocks. They can't be sold in my state. The communist attorney general won't permit them. We can buy used ones (pre-94) but they are very expensive Gen 2 versions. Is a used G26 gen 2 worth $750 if that is what you had to pay for it or would you go with something else? There are a lot of handguns available in my state from Sig, S&W, Kahr, Ruger, Beretta, Walther...just not Glock. What would you do (other than move to another state?) Pay the $750 for a used G26 or go with something else and if so what would you go with? M&Pc? LC9? P-238? J-Frame? P-239? SR9c? PM9? 1911-SC E Series? I appreciate your feedback. Take care,

My thought would be to move.
    If that's not an option,....:whistling: The SR9c & PM9 are promising!

I'd say if you want a Glock, get a Glock. I originally bought a S&W Sigma because I didn't feel like paying the $500+ for a Glock. Guess what happened? Shot the Sigma, hated it, sold it and ultimately bought the gun I should've bought in the first place.

Somethings are just worth the extra money. Plus, you'll be getting a somewhat collectable piece.

I'd move. To answer your question about alternatives, the S&W M&P 9C or Sig 239 would get my vote. If your looking for something smaller, I'd go with a Kahr PM9 or, a S&W J-frame.

There is life outside of Glock. If you are spending $700, I certainly wouldn't be getting a Glock. Glocks are great for the price, but if the price goes up, there are other, better guns out there. I second the M&P line. They are just as good as Glocks and they are made by a U.S. company, not some crazy Austrian who likes to swim naked in front of other men.

Every state has its own gun laws, and we all need to abide by them. With that, cost of living is different per state. If you have the means, get a Glock...you'll be glad you did.

I feel for you brother. You're in the same battle as CA, NY Glockers.

When I managed a gun store/range I heard this story with the Sigma quite a few times.

Glocks are probably banned in every Communist country too !
M&p's would be my 2nd choice.

The M&P9c (12+1, 10+1) is a good choice, more rounds then the G26 by 2 (unless you are 10 round restricted) but also taller/longer in the handle. The barrel is longer vs the G26. I have owned one and really liked it. I prefer the G26 though.

if you are a glock man, then the value to you should be nill. Looks are in the eye of the beholder and this can also apply to cost! I am a glock man and if I had to pay $700.00 for one because I knew that it was MY weapon of choice due to fit, finsh and reliability then I would buy it. I actually saw some gen 2 g17 & 19's for $699.00
