Well I finally went to the dark side. :whistling:
I've always been a HK guy. I now need to carry a Glock and the G31 is the approved weapon. I never realy had a good reason not to like them aside from thinking the trigger felt "tinny" and the stamped steel slide release looked and felt cheap. It isnt the most comfortable gun compared to my new P30, but I do like it. My person new one has a 0 round count (OK 2 at the factory) but it is starting to grow on me.

Now The funny part is I have been looking for the perfect gun for my wife. She hates the Beretta, the Kimber is too big, the USPs are too big, hates the revolvers, etc. Now the P30 with the small inserts was perfect. She loved it. Then I put the G31 in her hand, and while the frame might be a bit big, she loved the trigger pull. What is it 3.5lb? She felt it was perfect. the DA/SA P30 would never be available to her cocked and locked, so she would need to pull the full length of pull in a SD situation. I think this weekend I may take her to get her fitted for a smaller frame.
Ill never give up my love for my first love HK, but for the money I am starting to like the Glocks. I will probably try to go break the P30 and G31 in at the range tomorrow evening. I just need to take a trip out to Cabelas to stock up on personal .357Sig ammo.

Congrats on the new G31....just curious...why didn't you go w/ the G32? I'm trying to decide on which version to go with....

Of all the Glocks I have owned, I like the 31 best. Its lightweight, not too large, but I find it very easy to handle and appreciate the firepower . Enjoy.

For me, I just happened upon one at a local gun shop, a Glock factory reconditioned one. Also found a airlines check in ticket in the Glock case from Tuscon AZ. Mine cost $399, and I installed tritium sights and bought additional magazines and stocked up on ammo. I had no intention of searching for a Glock 31, it just was in the right place at the right time and I liked it. Think I like it better than I would the Model 32.

Well the decision was actually one of necessity. G31 is the only approved weapon for PAGC and only with the .357Sig barrel. no cheating with a G22 dropped in. I bought one for personal use to have and to get used to it and have as my own. Standard issue is G31 with 3 total mags.

NJSP are have adopted the G31 in 357(obviosuly in .357) but LEO Agencies are starting to move to them.

I actually like the .357Sig caliber. It is a perfect middle round. It is a hard hitting round, only downside is it is a fast round so isnt always the best for QC in a densely populated apartment or home. That is my opinion, since the Hydrashok rounds def. have a high expansion rate. I always like the .40 the best, I just picked up a P30 as well (9mm) for cheap shooting, but I think I will need a G22 barrel for the G31 to use with the ammo I have for my Beretta. I just dont like to shoot that thing. M9 was never comfy.

I've owned all three in the Glock .357 line up. I still have the 33 and the 31. Don't get me wrong, the 32 wasn't bad, but the 33 and the 31 are outstanding IMHO....the 31 conceals surprisingly well in a RMH (Rocketman) IWB and OWB with the inexpensive Glock combat/sport holster....
