Hi All, picked up my first Glock 23 last month and have put 150 rds through it. Only two stove pipes, but shot like a dream. Waiting for dryer weather to feed it more.

I have been reloading for my other pistols(only for a year now) and was wondering if you have any recommendations on reloading for the .40 s&w? I have noticed that the spent cases seem to be bulged at the bottom of the cases. I haven't bought any dies yet, but still saving my brass. Any info would be greatly helpful.

If you plan to reload and use the rounds in the Glock, the 1st thing to spend money on is a non-Glock barrel with supported chamber.

Who would I contact or who manufactures a after market barrel for shooting reloads?

Thanks for the welcomes and the advice concerning reloading for the Glock 23. I started reloading last year about this time for my .44 mag. That graduated into 9mm, .357 mag. Its really enjoyable to put together a reload and then go shoot it. If the weather permits for Wedsneday I'll be at the range. Thanks again.

Lone Wolf also sells KKM. Good brand.

With out going into the rifling differences of Glock barrel vs others. Cleaning, lead build up, higher pressures, may not chamber in other guns, etc. a concern is the buldged cases.

You can, through various means (Case Pro, Redding Push Thru dies), resize the cases and shoot them again . The problem becomes that after a few times of this the brass becomes work hardened (brittle) and can burst. Using a barrel with a well supported chamber pretty much eliminates any bulge, so you can use the brass over many times.

Welcome and nice choice. I shoot reloads out of my 23 with 5 differant powders and the 155, 165 and 180 grn boolits. I have had 3 bulged brass just testing loads so far and just threw them away. If you do reload 40 S&W you can get the dies at Midway and I recommend a Max case guage.

I have reloaded for many Glocks using Glock fired ammo. I use a Lee Anniversary Kit and like it.
    At this time I have a G23 Gen3, G22 Gen3 RTF2 and a G22 Gen4 and all get reloaded ammo.
I like 165gr or 180gr JHP's and Remington Brass, any good primer and Hodgdon's Longshot powder. Longshot gives good FPS with lower chamber pressure for most loadings. Longshot will only load medium to hot loads, no lite loads.
The only aftermarket parts on my Glocks are night sights.
    Just my experience.

the only reason you would need an aftermarket barrel is if you going to be shooting lead reloads...if you shooting jacketed rounds you will be fine...
