I have a Gen4 G17, I have not swapped from one side to the other, but looked to see what it takes to do so. It is not hard to do. First, unload and field strip it. Then all you need is a flathead screwdriver. The one that comes with the Glock Armoer's Kit is a 1/8x4. Look down the mag well. Hold both sides of catch to prevent it from moving. Use the small screwdriver to push out the magazine spring (rod shaped) up and toward the "U" shaped cut in the catch. That will release the tension from the magazine catch. Then slide out the catch, flip it over, and slide it back in. When the catch meets the rod spring, you will have to carefully push up the spring end to allow the catch to slip under the spring. Then use the small screwdriver to push the end of the spring back into the "U" shaped cut in the magazine catch. Check for proper tension and function with an empty magazine.

And welcome, come on in and enjoy yourself..
