So i got my new gen 4 glock 17 yesterday and shot 50rds of tulammo through it. Today i went to Dicks and bought 100rds of white box winchster and just now finished that off. So far, i've only had one stovepipe and two cases to the face to complain about.
I guess it just needs breaking in.

Also, the model i have has the fixed night sights. My gun isn't for self-defence or anything all i do with it is target shoot and i can't seem to figure out where to hold my sights. I'm shooting at ranges from 10 feet to around 20 yards. Do they make some kind of like red dot scope or reflex sight that mounts in the stock glock rear sight groove? Or something similar with more adjustment capabilities?

Wow what are you shooting at? I hit steel 12" plates at 100 yards with my fixed Tijicons and you should be able to do the same. Although you may have to give your 9's a little more arc than I give my 40's.

What RSA is in your G17? And Glock now has a new ejector for the Gen 4. If your G17 still has the 336 ejector, you might want to give Glock a call. And welcome to GlockTalk.. :wavey:

It needs the new ejector. Call Glock and tell them that you have a Gen4 G17 that stovepiped and some cases hit you in the face, and that you heard there's a new ejector for Gen4 to fix it. They'll want you to send the gun in to them so they can install the new ejector, while they have it they'll update the connector to a "dot" connector and the latest guide rod if your Glock doesn't already have those. They should offer you a prepaid shipping label but if they don't, ask for one. Remove any aftermarket parts besides sights before you send it to them. There shouldn't be any need to send magazines.

The ejector that's in your gun right now should be marked "336", the new ejector that will fix the ejection problems is marked "30274".

Here are some pictures of the new ejector: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17921092&postcount=15

As far as "trigger control" that's a well discussed issue. Try to search variations on "my Glock shoots left"

Thanks for the repies i thing i solved my accuracy problem though. Me and my dad were talking about it while walking around in the yard and we were finding the bullets on the ground and they had NO rifling marks on them whatsoever. I think i just got a bad box that was out of spec and they were just tumbling. I shot up a box of lawman hollowpoints and everything went smoothe and was dead on. It was just that cheap winchester ammo i wont buy again.

Not saying it ain't possible, but I thought that the Lawman bullet was a full metal jacket meant to complement the Gold Dot Hollow Points for training purposes, but it appears on the interweb that they do or did exist! Either way, if it was Lawman or Gold Dot or whatever and it cleared things up, that's excellent!
And welcome to GT!

edit: Not that I am or am not recommending it, but you asked about a red dot sight. Research the Burris Fast-Fire II. That's a very popular dovetail mounted reflex sight.
