    Good afternoon,

I've been a Sig guy for a while, but lately have been really jones'n for a G19. I was in my LGS today, and ended up buying a G19 RTF Larry Vickers. I really like how the RTF texturing feels. Not sure how I feel about all Vickers accessories. Love the blacked out rear sight, although not sure about the gold bead front sight. Time will tell. I look forward to participating in the forum.

If you're not sure about the accessories and sights why did you pay the extra price? For the grip texture?

Welcome to the site! A lot of pros and cons on all of that Vicker's stuff. Good luck with your new Glock and we hope that you'll enjoy it!

I guess I should be more specific. I love the texture, the plug, base plates, rear sight, and extended mag release. Not sure I like the Vickers slide lock lever or the front sight. Once I'm able to shoot it, I'll get a better feel for the front sight, Everything else was worth $100 to me.

Well I hope you like reliable, because that's what you just bought. If you don't mind, what did you use before you bought your Glock?

FWIW (quite a lot, actually), Glock terminology differs from that of other makes.

That "slide lock lever" is called the slide stop lever...for very good reason. There's a completely different part in every Glock called the slide lock...it's the part that locks the slide assembly on the frame, and is pulled down to unlock the slide assembly from the frame.

There are other terminology differences as well, like Glock's magazine catch instead of "magazine release" and firing pin instead of "striker". Those two don't cause confusion, but slide lock vs. slide stop surely can. :)

    I've been shooting a Sig P229 SAS, as well as a P320.

The sights, are they the u notch in the rear blacked out, and something shiny up front? I think those are Vickers and Wilson combat. I like that u notch in the back, makes things a bit better for my eyes.

Yes, they are Wilson Combat with a U notch on the rear.

Did the magazines come with the Vickers rounded base plate, and if so, how do you like it?

Yes, it came with 2 magazines with Vicker's base plates. I like them. They seem to blend well with the Vicker's grip plug.

Welcome and congrats on the 19. I think after you shoot a few rounds down range you'll like that gold bead front sight.
