    I have a glock 17-gen4 with a Feb12,2012 born on date .
It has a 336 numbered ejector.

I thought Glock was changing these out ?

Gen4's with a test-fire date after 10/10/2011 are supposed to have the new ejectors in them, 30274 for 9mm and 28926 for .40/.357.

The 30274 ejector is only necessary if you experience erratic ejection with that gun. If it ejects fine with the 336 ejector, you don't need the new ejector.

If you want the 30274 ejector, you can find a Glock Certified Armorer in your area and ask them to order the Gen4 9mm "30275" trigger housing w/ejector and install it for you. The Gen4 9mm trigger housing with part number 30275 contains the 30274 ejector. You could also order that trigger housing from an online retailer and install it yourself, currently only two online retailers are confirmed to have this trigger housing and they're both backordered at the moment:

    2. http://glockparts.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=123022&CAT=748

If you experience erratic ejection with the 30274 ejector installed, that means the extractor is out-of-spec and needs to be replaced. Keep the new ejector in the gun, and replace the extractor with a new one.

Here are some detail strip resources if you need them, you'll need a 3/32 inch punch like the Glock Armorer's Tool:

On the following page are some Glock Armorer's Manuals, just scroll down to the "G" section. I learned from the Update Manual and 2009 Manual. The 2009 Manual has a few pages missing, but that info can be found in the Update Manual as well.

They may have ran out of new ejectors when Smyrna received yours. For a few months, Smyrna would receive a Gen4 from Austria and they'd detail strip it, remove the old ejector and install the new ejector, then ship the gun to a distributor.

Now, the new ejectors are standard in the newest Gen4 trigger housings and the Gen4's should come from Austria with the new ejector already installed, I doubt that Glock will discontinue them, at least any time in the near future.

The important question is how does it eject when shot?

I have a Gen4 G17 i bought early last year with 336 ejector. It shoots great, no FTF, FTE, and shells ejecting fine (not hitting me). It has been 100%. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones.

Shoot it first and if you are having issue/s let Glock know. Goodluck.

what is the current extractor? Mine has no part number on it, just a number 1. It also appears to be a MIM part, not impressed. Mine has a test fire date of 3-7-12 and is a gen 4 17. Appreciate the help
