Just picked up my first Glock 23 this weekend at my FFL - BEAUTIFUL gun. The FFL was a great help in showing me how to take it apart, proper handling etc. and had me remove and re-assemble the slide, spring, barrell, etc. several times. After returning home, I did this a few more times and noticed that the rod and spring looked like they were coming out of the half-moon type setting they are supposed to rest in. Is this typical, or did I do something wrong? Keep in mind that this has (unfortunately) not been fired yet, and is brand new. THANKS FOR ANY INPUT -
The half moon position is only for ease of reassembly. It is normal and necessary for the end of the guide rod to pop out after reassembly. No need for worry.
