It's been awhile i been on here and wanted to share todays purchase bought a lipsey's edition Glock 17 Gen 4 full FDE and couldn't be happier with it. I did wanted a G19 but they're starting to become hard getting out here for reasonable price. Especially the full FDE guns as store get a small order of them and they fly off the shelves quick regardless of the price. Can anyone tell me how durable is the coating on the slide mine will be a safe queen will be getting upgrades shortly as well.

Good luck, and congratulations. My friends that have tried a spray and bake finish on a hard Glock finish have not had very good luck. It is difficult to bond to a stock Glock. Enjoy it while it's pretty!

Congrats! Picked up with exact same thing except for a 19 yesterday. Has Trijicon Bright and Tough sights and extended slide release. Doesn't appear to have been fired. Great pistol.

Love m G17. Its my EDC. Black, Austrian gen 4. Because i have a all Kydex AIWB holster I am getting a few wear marks on slide. I think it gives the firearm character. If it gets too bad i have a place nearby that does Cerakoting.

Congrats on the new gun. Since you are keeping this gun as a safe queen the finish should be fine. For me, I would be stress testing the gun as much as I possibly can. Well I would not use it to pound nails, though:D.

The finish on it should be quite durable and corrosion resistant. From what I could find on them, they were done by Cerakote themselves. So it should be a very professional job. I tried to find a Gen 3 19 version, but the last one was already sold at my LGS.

The finish for your intentions should be fine, using the gun in competition will promote early aging. Looks good and enjoy.

thanks guys it will be taken to the range most of the times i go which isn't too much. I tried carrying a G17 before and the frame kept snagging onto the seat of my car every time i sat inside so sticking to carrying my G19C until i run across a G19 G4 for a really good price.
