I pick up my new glock 26 this Saturday, I can't wait. I also got a +2 ext for one of the mags. I can't wait to pick it up. What type of ranger ammo should I use in it 147HP or 124+pHP?

    Congrats!

Either ammo choice should work just fine. Some folks really like the heavier bullets; personally, I'm a fan of the middle-of-the-road bullet weights.

Lots of guns show an accuracy preference once they get broken-in. You should try a box of each after you're comfortable with the gun, and see if one shoots noticeably better than the other. Shoot from a rested position on a bench, so you're testing the accuracy of the gun and ammo, not YOUR accuracy.

Be safe, good luck, and have fun!

Unless the 19 or 23 I'll be purchasing soon dazzles me beyond belief, my 26 will remain my favorite Glock. I love her so much.

    Welcome to the club!

I'm a lefty, and my G26 is set up with a smooth trigger, #3.5 connector, extended slide stop and mag release (all GLOCK OEM), and i have zero trouble with it.

    Its great fun in IDPA!

Even if I end up having to keep my Kahr PM9 because its value "used" has taken a big hit here in AZ, I'm still going to get myself a G26.

Best of luck with your new Glock there covi101! Enjoy shooting it at the range and may you never HAVE to use it!

    I'm right here.
I use Speer Gold Dots 124gr GDHP in mine for CCW and Remington UMC 115gr FMJ for the range. Never a hiccup. You will never regret owning a 26. I love mine in OD.

Do yourself a favor, pick up a set of Concealable Control floor plates for your 10 round magazines, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to both conceal and control with them on. Since I bought mine they're the only floor plates I'll have on my 10 rounders. I carry 17 round mags as spares.

Why has your PM9 taken a hit? I still see them used for $500 and I'm in the Phx-Metro area.

The trade-in value is only between $325 and $350. The consignment price is only $450 to $500. Less the 15% vigorish for the house and the time spent waiting around for someone to come along, want it bad enough and ultimately buy it, I'm still well under the $570 needed for a Glock 26 with night sights.

At some point, a person has to ask how much good money should he throw after bad? $700 for a highly-suspect gun plus the cost of 875 rounds of good, factory-new ammunition to-date is, I believe, more than enough to prove the point. I may be wrong here but I don't believe that a 3-day-old fish improves with age.

I just got my 26 last week. It was also my first Glock and so far I love it. I have only had a chance to run about 250 rounds through it and it shot great. I have ran WWB in full jackets and in JHP and some Remington UMC. I have yet to deside on carry ammo but I look forward to trying them all out.

Right now I am going to carry it in a cheap Kydex holster I got on line as I wait for my MaxCon VI that is on order.

A pic next to my old carry gun.

I have now added a set af GAP Finger Extensions to my magazines and really like them. They are not a third finger groove like a +0 Pierce extention but they do a great job. It allows me a better grip when drawing & fireing while never hurting concealability.

    Their web site is http://www.concealablecontrol.com/products.html

Here is a picture of them on the 26

Thanks for the info. When I get my G26, I think I'll get a set and try them out. For only $20 it's worth the off-chance that I might not like them.
