I'm picking up a new 19 today and my lgs has both a gen 3 and 4. The 4 is about $40 more and I've heard a few mixed reviews here and there on the gen 4's. Just curious to hear some opinions from you guys. Thanks for the help!

Whichever fits your hand better and whichever texture you prefer.

I like the Gen4 better. The adjustable backstraps made a difference for my wife, and I like the larger, ambidextrous capable mag. release.

Whichever fits your hands and your needs the best. I can't say enough good things about my Gen4. Greatly prefer it over my father's Gen3.

I too love my gen4 19. Whichever fits you hand better will be fine. But I love the texture of the gen 4 and the extra recoil dampening spring! Barely any recoil! You can't go wrong, but I got rid of all my gen 3 's for gen 4's.

Go for the gen 4. If you're worried about any problems it seems that the new gen 3s seem to be having more problems than the new gen 4s. If you're going to get a gen 3 I'd suggest trying to find an older one or look for an rtf2. My gen 4 17 has been problem free ever since I bought it 6 months ago. I've never had any problems with any glock I own or ever owned.

My next Glock will be a Gen 4. You get an extra mag, sweet new grip texture, new recoil spring and the adjustable backstrap. What's not to love? Don't concern yourself with Gen 4's supposed issues. It's all internet noise.

As many others have said, go with whichever one feels the best in your hands, only you can really decide that.

After all of the problems I've been having with my Gen 4 G26 I am going to strongly disagree with this. Does the internet make the late Gen3 and Gen 4 problems seem more common than they actually are? Yes definitely. But that does not mean these problems do not exist.

You actually believe people don't have issues with their Gen 4's??? Or you think it's not as rampant as people think.

I had a Gen 4 G19 but got rid of it and got a Gen 3 G19. I personally like the feel of the Gen 3 over the Gen 4. Don't get me wrong...the Gen 4 guns feel good, but there's something about the Gen 3 I like better.

My Gen 3 runs flawless, and always has. Not broke, doesn't need stupid removable grip panels.
