I just bought a 17L, beautiful gun. When I got the gun, everything was tight and when I shook the gun, everything was solid. I disassembled the gun for the first time and then I noticed a little bit of slide play (loose slide) when i reassembled the gun.

Is this normal? If not, what am i doing wrong. i have a glock 26 and I don't think the slide is as loose.

Well you can't hurt anything by disassembling the gun. All Glocks are somewhat loose, that's part of what makes them reliable. Some are bound to be looser than others. Does it shoot well?

My new 17L has just a little up and down play between the slide and frame, and some lateral play as well.
Maybe there was a bit of plastic around one of your frame rails (not uncommon for Glocks and H&K's) that made it feel tighter at first and now it's gone making it feel looser.
Plus we all have a tendancy to 'ooh and ahh' over a new pistol, then later start seeing the faults.
