I have a 2 month old Gen 4 G17 that has around 40 rounds threw it. I am getting a bunch of metal shavings on the barrel and inside/top of slide. This photo was taken after only 15 rounds fired after cleaning - note the shavings on the barrel.

It appears that the slide is rubbing near the slide lock notch on the inside of the slide.

    Suggestions?

Have you looked at your fired bass? Look for marks on your bass. Epically a triangle shaped indention.

To me it looks like it is from the RSA, which can happen when they are brand new. It should go away with some more shooting. :dunno:

The shavings are aluminum in color.

Can you post a good quality picture of that area?

Its from the recoil spring assembly. Just keep cleaning it and it will stop soon.
