So I wasn’t really looking but came across a Gen 5 19. Ended up picking it up after 30 seconds of deep thought. This is my second Gen 5 as I have a 26 as my daily. I’m really liking the removal of the finger grooves and personally glad they removed the half moon cutout. I have carried Glocks for a while and have always had a 19/23 as my stable go-to choice. I’m appreciating what Gen 5 is doing and look forward to plenty of range time and carry rotation down the road. 66074F1D-2EDC-4866-80F2-2B1375D1AEB1.jpeg

No. The earlier Gen 5’s went through several phases. At first they had no front serrations, the bevel on the slide did not match the frame which had no bevel and they had a half moon cut in the front strap. And unfortunately, some of the ambi cut outs looked like a drink monkey with the shakes did the factory work.

Over time the bevels started to match, the cut out disappeared and now it looks like all current 19’s have are FS models with the breech cut to aid ejection. In short, the FS model has all the whistles and bells.

    Really enjoying mine.

Enjoy... love my G45. They are similar only I have a G17 grip and capacity. The Gen 5's I (IMHO) think are much improved from other gens. Enjoy...

That’s what I’m looking for. I also like the mag interchangeability without having to change base plates like needed to fit in the 19X.

I hear you on that, I was lucky and found this listed for $530. No complaints from me based on current events and scarcity of new in the box guns.

I must admit that I am very surprised at how much I like my new Glock 19 gen 5. Purchased online without handling or shooting. I just picked it up today and my initial impressions of the pistol are very positive. Only range time will tell how much better this pistol is than my G3s and G4s.

Without a half moon cutout yes.
