    Hi guys,

Been lurking here for a while and absorbing info from this great forum so I thought I should create an ice breaker post.

To keep it on topic, I am a mostly happy G19 owner. I say mostly because my only gripe with the G19 has been the grip shape and texture.

This issue is now being corrected by Cold Bore Customs whom I discovered through this forum, so....

Welcome. You should also check out the new RTF and Gen4 (coming soon) models, since you don't like the original grip.

I checked out the G19 RTF2 with the "scallops" when I bought mine. The RTF texture felt good in hand but was a little too aggressive for me for CCW. The scallops also didn't work as well for me as the straight serrations though I thought they looked fine.

I also handled a Gen4 G17... the texture was about perfect but I'm going to let the Gen4 G19 simmer for a year or so after it comes out before I get on board... unless the initial reports are overwhelmingly OUTSTANDING. But then the backstrap hump will probably still be there, so... :dunno:

It's my favorite. I would think you would get used to the grip. I wasn't impressed by it very much when I first got mine, but now, I wouldn't have it any other way.

    Thanks for the welcome guys.

    tbyron,
I have pretty much gotten used to it in a sense. I've just found that the shape of the backstrap feels very unnatural in my hand and I doubt that will go away. This is especially apparent after holding my SR9 or CZ and going back to the Glock.

Other than that the G19 is my favorite as well... hopefully with the grip reduction it will be perfect.

I'm noticing an upwards trend over the past few months of new GT members that got a 19. Welcome and Congrats on one of the finest Glock models ever made.

Gen 3 glock19 is the best made. Grip texture and finger grooves are great.

What a beauty. This or the new G19 version of it when it comes out will probably be my next pistol. I held one of these 17's the other day and it was absolutely fantastic in the hand!

I sold my G19 once when I was hard up for money. I regret it to this day and will soon correct my error.

Congrats Ganderson on owning one of the finest pistols on the planet and welcome to GT. :)

I have seen the grip reductions done by Cold Bore and they are +1. The only reduction I've seen that I might consider. I recently bought a G19 and have had a G23,21,26 for some time. I have just heard so much good about them decided to get one. Great forum, great bunch of guys and gals too.
