I keep getting a message from video sites stating I need a new version of Flash Player. However, I go to Macromedia or Adobe's websites and find that they are shut down. What gives, and what do I do?

    Thanks! Fred

my daughter did this to me and I am in the process of re-building the machine. I got hit through AIM. It sends you to multiple places and the file is getting on legitmate servers that are being hacked. It states you need a flash update and installs an executable that is malware.

Alright, so I downloaded the new flashplayer, and attempted to install it. I got nowhere, though. Apperantly it doesn't know where to install itself to, stating that it can't find the browsers "plug-in" directory. I assisted it, locating the directory myself (c:\program files\internet explorer\plug ins) but it's still a no-go. Is there another location that this thing is supposed to be? Thanks!

Which browser are you using?Which version of Windows>I had that happen before and instead of downloading the installer I had to download the entire Flash program.

Win XP with Explorer 7. Where would I find the entire package? Adobe's websight seems to be on the Fritz. Thanks!

Oh Explorer 7.I haven't tried that one.I'll have to search for the entire program download. It's much larger than the installer.
