So, the gun at the bottom of this picture is my Glock 17.

I've been thinking for a while now about doing some sort of finish on it, but am not exactly sure what to do, or even what is out there to do. I have been thinking about having the slide done in some sort of brushed shiny chrome finish (is that even possible?).

    Anyone have any ideas?

Note: Don't even suggest anything to do with pink. That just will not happen. It would make me snicker every time I pulled my gun out of my holster, and I just can't picture that being a good thing. Not to mention it being an abomination of a perfectly decent gun.

Maybe the robber/rapist that you pull it on will die laughing. Then your problems will be solved. :animlol:

As for the chrome finish, I don't know if you can do it properly without replacing the slide. But then again I am sure that a gunsmith could address that far better than I.

Mmmm....I think it looks nice the way it is, but that's just me.

Now, I know there are folks out there that offer different finishes and such. I have seen photos of stainless look slides and such, but unfortunately have no resources.

I'm interested in knowing what you decide to do, though. Keep me updated, huh?

    Dinky, darlin'.....um......no. But thanks, really.

I'm just thinking that when I line my guns up now, I go "black, black, black, black, black, black......." and I thought it might be nice for once to go "black, black, black, ooooooh shiny and pretty!, black, black......" know what I mean?

But no "black, black, black, PINK!, black, black....."

    No no no no no.

What about two tones: mauve frame and vermillion slide?

My husband refinished by G 26 purple, but I had to prove myself on the range first. There are also some really nice colors like coyote tan and several green tones that are more subdued and look good on the black frame. Any gunsmith can get just about any color you want in gun coat paint.
I attached a picture my husband took of my gun and emailed his friends to be "cute". Gotta love the girlie accessories in the pic.

You can send it off to Tripp Research and get it hard chromed. It will look like brushed stainless or shiny depending on your instructions.

Oh, SARDG, words escape me! Holy crap, I'd laugh myself silly at that gun.

However, I do have to admit btcglockgirl's purple finish really looks nice - that's a great job. That I wouldn't laugh at. But, the spirit just doesn't move me to do it in purple.

But the brushed stainless....now that holds promise. Thanks, Vic.
